Welcome

Welcome and thank you for your interest in my project.

Since its conception in November 2013, I recognized that, much like my life, there is no way to predict where this project will go, how it will develop or how many people’s lives it may touch. That is the exciting thing about it though, letting it out into the universe so it can take on a life of its own. I very much look forward to watching as it develops and travels around the world. I am excited to meet the people it touches—to get to know them, hear thier stories, feel how the love in these 88 small canvas hearts impacts them, encourages them, brings healing to them.

I have received much positive feedback and encouragement in these past few months, and am sure that will continue to pour in. I have no way to express the gratitude I feel for everyone who has helped inspire me in this journey. And though it is difficult, and though I have not disclosed the nature of this project to the man who’s painting inspired it (and comprises the physical hearts), I have to thank him–because without his love, without the heartbreak, and lessons I learned from our break-up, I would not be who I am today. I don’t know how he will react if he ever finds out about this, but I would hope he sees that it is a project of LOVE.

When I sat down to create this website, I realized that I wouldn’t know the best way to set the stage for the amazing journey of the 88 Hearts until the participants of the project send me their stories and contributions. Therefore the site will grow and expand and change as the project carries forward. I appreciate your patience in these beginning weeks as I figure that out and make the many necessary adjustments to tell this story most simply and thoroughly.

Please send any feedback to 88heartsproject@gmail.com

With infinite love,
Carly Rogers-Dayton

  1. I am lucky to have one of the hearts – #23. I am holding on to it for a while just to feel the love…. I am watching the snow melt after an unusual winter storm here in the Atlantic Southeast. Two different neighbors offered to get me anything I needed when they walked to the grocery store yesterday, one brought me chocolate cookies, and three friends called to check on me. I feel fortunate to be so loved! And then my late husband Sam smiled at me from the full moon last night…… oh my.
